Research-intensive departments
Integrated departments support QAZIIM’s translational model.
Regenerative & Translational Medicine
Provides regenerative medicine consultation and translational evaluation for tissue injury, ischemic disease, impaired healing, degenerative conditions and complex clinical questions where regenerative approaches may be considered. Clinical history, imaging, biomarkers, functional assessment and molecular findings are integrated with evidence on cell-based therapies, stem and progenitor cells, extracellular vesicles, biomaterials and tissue repair. The department connects biological mechanism, manufacturing quality, potency testing, preclinical evidence, ethics and clinical readiness before any protocol is considered for patient use. It also supports biological-sample processing and biobanking, regenerative biomarker analysis, preclinical research, clinical-study design, safety monitoring and long-term outcome assessment.

System Biology & Bioinformatics
Provides bioinformatics, biostatistics and clinical interpretation for whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, epigenomics, GWAS and integrated multi-omics studies. Genomic, molecular, imaging and clinical data are analysed through reproducible pipelines, quality-controlled workflows, phenotype-aware interpretation and AI-assisted prioritisation. The department supports germline and somatic variant analysis, copy-number and structural-variant detection, transcriptomic and pathway analysis, cohort studies, biomarker discovery, predictive modelling and research-data visualisation. Secure data governance and multidisciplinary review convert complex datasets into clinically and scientifically meaningful results for diagnosis, patient stratification, research and precision medicine.

Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine
Provides cardiology consultation, cardiovascular genetics and precision-risk assessment for inherited cardiomyopathies, arrhythmia syndromes, sudden cardiac death, hereditary aortopathies and familial dyslipidemia. Clinical history, family pedigree, electrocardiography, cardiac imaging, vascular assessment, biomarkers and genomic findings are integrated to guide surveillance, prevention, family screening and individualized management. The department also supports cardiometabolic risk evaluation, biological-age and multi-omics research, regenerative cardiovascular programmes and multidisciplinary review of complex inherited or acquired cardiovascular disease.
